There was a Mt Horeb School Shooting on May 1st, 2024. About 11:11 am somebody called 911 to report that they saw someone coming towards the school having a backpack and what appeared like a long gun.
The police reacted immediately and found the student who is 14 years old, his name was later confirmed as Damian Haglund; he was found east of the main entrance of this educational institution.
